Rhino Metals, Inc. was founded in 1995 as a small-town metal fabrication shop in the United States. Founded by USAF fighter pilot Don Suggs, Rhino Metals Inc. is headquartered in Caldwell, Idaho just outside of Boise.
In 1999, Mr. Suggs was asked to built a gun safe by his father to keep firearms out of the hands of his grandchildren. None could be found at any local sporting goods stores so Don put his skills and imagination to the test. Two U.S. patents solidified the Rhino design style and the Rhino Safe Co. was born. It has quickly become one of the fastest growing U.S. gun safe companies employing a large number of veterans who focus on discipline and commitment to excellence.
The name comes from the McDonnell Douglas F-4 aircraft, flown by Mr. Suggs, and appropriately named “rhino” because of it’s long nose and toughness.
